What is Jurisprudence?

Jurisprudence is the study of the philosophy and theory of law. It is above the specific laws; it questions the nature, purpose, and interpretation of legal systems. The foundation for legal analysis and reasoning comes from jurisprudence as it asks questions like "What is law?" and "How should laws be applied?" It discusses broader principles that govern law, its relationship to morality, and its role in achieving justice and social order.
